Think about the last time you felt truly supported by someone.
How did it feel to know that they had your back? That they were there to cheer you on, encourage you and give you the support you needed.
Having people who are there for you is incredible – but do you know what’s even more incredible?
Tuning into and offering yourself the support you need.
When I learned to ask myself “how can I support you?” Everything changed.
It helped me know exactly what to do for myself and allowed me to love others for the simple sake of them being there for me to love – not because they were going to do or be something for me.
How can I support you?
Is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself. It’s ripe with compassion, nurture and loads of grace.
When you step outside of your circumstance and listen to your thoughts it’s amazing what deep insight you’ll learn about who you are and what you need.
The key here though is to truly listen.
When you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and burned out sometimes all you want to do is tune out.
However, it’s during these times that you need to tune into yourself the most.
I find it really helpful to pay attention to the sensations that my body feels when I ask it questions.
If I feel a tightness in my chest I know I’m dealing with some anxiety and the best way to support myself is through thought work and perhpas talking with my coach.
If my body feels exhausted it’ll often need a nap, a walk or sometimes a great orgasm does the trick (heck ya it does!).
And, if my shoulders feel heavy it often means that I’m taking too much on and I need to start saying no more often.
Your body knows what you need before your mind does.
Asking yourself “how can I support you?” as if you’re the most important person in the world is one of the most selfless acts you can do.
The more you’re supported the brighter you can shine your light and do what you’re on this earth to do!
So go ahead – ask yourself how you can support you and then do what you know you need – I guarantee it will change your life!
